Hanamanthagouda
Seven-year-old Hanamanthagouda had spent most of his childhood unable to open his mouth normally. Eating was difficult, speech unclear, and maintaining oral hygiene a constant challenge. Over time, the condition began to affect his facial growth and confidence, leaving his family anxious and unsure where to seek help.
After clinical evaluation at IHF , Bengaluru he was diagnosed with bilateral temporomandibular joint ankylosis, a condition in which both jaw joints are fused, severely restricting movement. The required treatment was complex and beyond the family’s financial reach.
He underwent corrective surgery to release the fused joints and restore function. Following surgery, Hanamanthagouda now eats comfortably, speaks more clearly, and maintains oral hygiene independently. With ongoing physiotherapy, he is progressing toward normal growth and renewed confidence. Thanks to support from Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, this intervention not only restored a basic function but brought lasting relief to his family and hope for the future.
